I'm lacing up my shoes for the India Literacy Project's Strides for Literacy! I'm committed to walking/running 200 miles in 8 weeks to raise funds for children's education in rural India.
Imagine a school with meager resources, overworked teachers, and limited learning tools. This is the reality for many children in rural India. ILP is working to change that by focusing on:
- Schooling: Keeping children in school.
- Learning: Enhancing learning with innovative methods.
- Earning: Developing career paths for students.
ILP supports children's education in an innovative and low-cost way. For instance, to support science education, it has designed a portable science kit with 150 experiments in physics, chemistry, and biology, using materials that can be easily replenished in local villages. Typically, it costs less than $2 to support a child's education for an entire year.
Your support can transform lives:
- $1000: Supports interactive classrooms with science kits and digital lessons for 300 children.
- $500: Funds a library program, improving reading skills for 500 children.
- $250: Trains 100 teachers in digital learning, science kits, and career guidance.
- $200: Supports "Vidya Saathi," a village-based resource addressing learning loss for 30 children.
- $120: Provides hands-on science kits for 300 children.
- $50: Supports the retention of 2 children in school.
- $25: Sponsors career guidance for 100 students.
